We welcome all enquiries to adopt one of our rescue babies.  All of them are desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, wormed, fully health checked, socialised and toilet trained.  A charge of $200 apples to each dog at the time of adoption.

Please NOTE: These services are normally limited to people living in Canberra and surrounding areas.

Our adoption process includes a visit to your home.  During this visit our aims are to ensure your fences and gates and home are safe and to discuss in further detail what you are looking for in your new companion.  Some of our questions also ensure that you are aware of what is involved in caring for a small companion - for instance do you know what the signs of impacted anal glands are? and how they should be treated?

If there is mutual agreement to go to the next step, a two week trial is arranged.  During this time you can test whether you are satisfied with how the dog fits into your family and so we can check that the dog is happy in your home.  We provide all the equipment you may need at this time (such as harness, bedding and medication) until the adoption is finalised. Until the adoption is final, the dog remains the property of Oodles of Poodles.

The terms and conditions of the fostering arrangement are set out here.

Please contact the club if you are interested in any of our available rescued pooches - email susan@oodlesofpoodles.org

SPECIAL NOTICE

We are always looking for foster carers who are interested in providing a temporary (usually up to several months) home for a small neglected dog rescued from the pound.  You would ideally already have another dog that is not aggressive, want the dog to live inside as part of the family and be willing to help the dog adapt to a new life after what might be a traumatic or neglected past.  The dog is likely to be male, will be low shedding and is likely to require some basic training (such as sit, come) and lots of attention.  Contact Susan if you would like to become part of the foster caring team.

                                                                                  ANNOUNCEMENT

Oodles of Poodles does not currently have any low shedding dogs for rehoming.  We would recommend you check out Monika’s Doggie Rescue in Sydney to give a home to one of the hundreds of small fluffy low-shedding dogs that have been abandoned. Photos and stories provided for each dog at http://www.doggierescue.com
