Cino was a small 8 week old chocolate puppy bought on impulse in Sydney by a family who realised when they got home that they couldn’t keep him.  After a short foster period, Cino was adopted by a family with another poodle of a similar age.  He is now truly a part of the family and the two poodles sleep cuddled together.  Cino has a mind of his own and loves to explore new environments before joining in to play with others.  He has a great life playing with his mate and visiting a farm regularly for fun.  Cino is now 6 months old.

Lofty is a very small maltese cross who was emaciated when rescued.  Lofty was so badly matted that he had to be shaved almost bald to relieve the pain of all the knots pulling on his skin.  His playful personality, cute face and perky ears soon have you hooked.  Lofty has blossomed with his new family and is now a close companion to Toska.

Kiri was rescued from the pound and was under two years old.  She is a maltese cross with very expressive ears.  She is very attuned to what people want from her and hates to be in trouble.  Kiri was adopted by Smudge’s family (see below) and can entice any dog to play and will play for hours, wrestling, tumbling, chasing and squeaking.  When no one else wants to play she is just as happy to sit down and chew on a bone for ages.  Kiri adores attention and loves a cuddle but it doesn’t take long for her to turn a cuddle into play instead.

When Toska was first rescued from the pound he was a scruffy, nondescript maltese/poodle cross.  He had to be shaved to remove his mats.  Toska was mollycoddled by his foster carer who helped him recover from illness and gain some weight.  In fact, Toska endeared himself so much to his foster carer that she bought him.  When his hair was long enough to clip properly, he was transformed into a model looking poodle and is very happy with his other poodle mate.  Toska now also tolerates other rescue dogs occasionally when they share his home until they can be placed.  Toska is now about 18 months old.

Smudge is a delightful little maltese who was found tied to a lamppost one night.  He barked indignantly at such treatment and after staying at a vet practice for a short time he was placed in the pound.  He was rescued and placed with a foster family who already had an older Doberman when he was well enough.  His foster family had him for only 2 days before deciding they wanted to adopt him permanently..  Smudge immediately established his credentials as the boss and decides the rules when he and Magic play together.  In addition to taming the Doberman, Smudge has managed to wind all the family around his little paw and they all adore him.  He has grown back his coat to full glory and delights in ruling the roost.

Haji was a 5 year old miniature apricot poodle who was unable to be cared for by his owner any longer.  Haji had been staying with friends on a farm waiting for his owner to improve and had very long matted hair.  A thorough grooming improved his appearance and he proved to be a very outgoing and cheerful dog.  Haji was adopted by a teenage girl and her family who adore him and include him in everything they do.  Haji is a much loved member of the family and very happy in his new home.

When Rosie arrived she was a small frightened and dirty black bundle of matted hair suffused with faeces.  After a wash and complete clip to take off all the matted hair Rosie enjoyed exploring her new environment.  She was placed with a foster carer for some time to return her to health with good food and attention combined with veterinary care.  Rosie’s foster parents decided that she fitted in so well with the family and was such a sweet bundle that they decided to adopt her.  Rosie now looks in the prime of health and delights in her daily walks and boisterous play with her other poodle friend.

Chuckie was a small fluffy dog who was very dirty.  His tail was so matted that it looked twice as long as it actually was.  He was thoroughly washed and clipped and placed with a foster family to be fed on a healthy diet and relearn the rules of living inside.  Chuckie grew his hair back to its former glorious state and looks very cute and cheeky.  His new adoptive family were instantly taken by him and Chuckie now lives in the lap of luxury, sleeping on the sofa, playing with his Pomeranian friend and staying away from the cat.  Chuckie has definitely landed on his feet and loves his new life.
