2002

Millie and Jo were surrendered together by a family who could no longer care for them.  Both of them are white poodles:  Millie is a miniature and Jo somewhere between a miniature and a toy.  Millie is about 5 and Jo about 3.  They had been staying in a shed with a small fenced area for exercise and had not seen a vet for over a year.  They were recently adopted together by a family who had been looking to provide a home for dogs in need.  Millie and Jo have settled in beautifully and set a new routine for the family. As the son of the family says: ‘We love these little guys!’

Millie has an old injury to her rear right leg that required regular exercise, although she prefers to recline on the sofa and observe regally.  But she enjoys her walks and is a great sniffer, and moves along quite comfortably and quickly, resorting to three legs when the going gets a bit tough.  Jo is much more inclined to play and looks for toys and opportunities to engage others in a game.  He is a real drama queen and will throw a tantrum if he doesn’t get his own way.  He is working on a repertoire of Christmas carols that he howls along with new his owners.

Jordy is black spaniel who was surrendered following a family break up.  He has a beautiful nature and after a brief foster period was placed with a family who were looking for a medium sized dog to be part of their life.  He has settled in well and enjoys all the activities of the family.

Muffin was a small one kg maltese in good (though thin) condition when found.  She appeared to have come from a good home, was house trained and recognised the sound of the keys and a lead.  We couldn’t find Muffin’s family and she was placed with a foster family to be cared for until she was ready to be adopted.  Within two weeks, a friend of the foster carer fell in love with Muffin and decided to adopt her.  Unfortunately Muffin was hit by a car and killed when she escaped from the house in fright during a severe thunderstorm.

Kofi was in poor condition when found and had to have his entire coat clipped to remove the matts and dirt.  He is a gentle friendly dog who fitted in to his foster carer’s home immediately.  Kofi has required significant veterinary care to return him to health and he is now doing very well.  Kofi’s foster family decided within a week to adopt him and he now plays happily with his human and younger poodle friends.  Kofi has adapted to the family routine and is well on the way to looking like a perfect poodle as his hair continues to grow and he becomes healthier and happier.

Neelix is a black miniature poodle who was rescued from the pound in August 2001.  He was approximately two years old and has a white streak running from his chin to his chest.  Neelix was named by his adoptive family after the pace faring wanderer who was adopted by the crew of VOYAGER from Star Trek. True to his namesake, Neelix loves to wander and takes any chance he gets to explore.  He has settled in beautifully and has a lovely nature.  His favourite past-time is stirring up Kira (another trekkie name) and when the fun and games are over he just loves a cuddle.  His aim is to boldly go where he hasn’t gone before.

Sydney is a very small white poodle maltese cross who was rescued from the pound.  He has been rehomed and enjoys his daily walks.

Ben is a miniature poodle cross who was rescued from the pound.  He was well trained and fitted in well to his new household.  He is very happy and lives a pampered life.

Benji was collected by Oodles of Poodles when his owner decided that he was no longer a good companion for the children. He was a little timid and nervous at first but with encouragement and care he developed confidence and enjoyed playing with the others.  It didn’t take long before he found a new home with an older lady where he settled in straight away.

Wilbur is a small grey toy poodle who has joined Benji in his new home. Benji and Wilbur now make a great team and run around together happily all day.  They love to leap up onto ‘their bed’ to bark at passers-by and other dogs but equally love to cuddle up and watch TV together as well.

Jacob and Micah were reluctantly surrendered by someone who was ill and unable to care for them.  They have been adopted together and love their new home where they have numerous plays, cuddles and walks.

Geordie, Pugsley and Muffy were all adopted by the same family at different times and ages.  They are all small maltese crosses from different circumstances and have settled into their new family where they play and rule the home with firm but loving paws.

Honey, a small poodle cross has been rehomed with an older person who adores her company.  Honey provides lots of enjoyment for her new owner and at the same time appreciates the love and attention lavished on her.

Bobbie is a poodle cross who was placed with a family after being rescued from the pound.  He is a cheeky little soul who is also independent and very happy.
