Pickles: This little shih tzu is the friendliest, happiest litle chap we have seen in a while.  He is about 6kg and very adventurous exploring his foster home with great gusto on arrival.  He seems to have come from a good home as he is toilet trained, good with children and walks well on lead.  He is learning still to come when called and sit for treats and attention but has a quick mind.  His playfulness is rubbing off on his housemate who is starting to respond to invitations to chase and wrestle.  Pickles is about 3 years old and happiest when he has people for company.

Fortunately. he has now been rehomed. He is now a very playful companion for Otto (previously rehomed) and despite being able to spring onto the dining room table in one graceful leap is adored by everyone who meets him.

Polly and Lily: These two tiny (3kg) maltese were littermates aged 6 years. They had always lived together. Unfortunately, it did not prove possible to rehome them together. However, they are each now part of a new pack with new lives.

Sooty is a 1 year old shih tsu cross rescued from the pound.  His carer says he is so cute she doesn't really want to give him up but he chases the cat.  He is extremely cuddly and great with the family.  He is playful and very intelligent - when he licks the scraps out of the cat's bowl and it moves, he picks it up and takes it to carpet so it doesn't move. He also loves the car and is excellent at meeting people and other dogs away from his own territory.

Sooty also had some potential behavioural problems. But he has now been rehomed into a lovely retired family where he will be managed with a firm but caring hand.

Shelly was originally put up for adoption with her long term companion Jas, but unfortunately, it was possible to rehome them together. Like Jas, Shelly is a beautiful miniature poodle and a delightful companion with a good sense of fun. She is an inside dog with good dog manners and has been trained well.  She is quite confident but is keen to do what is asked of her. She knows how to use a dog door and walks well on lead.  She is also extremely affectionate.  She has obviously been well cared for in the past and is loved by all who meet her.

Cobber is a good looking 3 year old toy poodle who could not be cared for by his owner any longer.  He is a very intelligent little dog with strong tendencies to play and a great affection for other dogs.  He also loves attention from his carers and is very excited about going for walks.
Pippin, a 3 year old miniature poodle, could not be cared for by his family any longer.  He is a delightful, energetic and intelligent dog with a strong streak of self confidence.  He will chase cats that are scared of him and tries to be bossy with children.  He behaves very well when meeting other dogs and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement.

Jas is a beautiful miniature poodle with a good sense of fun. Originally, he had been put up for adoption with a long time companion Shelly (see separate entry). He is an inside dog with good dog manners and has been trained well.  He is quiet and gentle but still has a lot of energy for walking and playing. He knows how to use a dog door and walks well on lead.  He is also extremely affectionate.  Jas was rehomed by a lady with two other male poodles and will be well loved there. He is very happy.
Pepper is an older dog who was rescued from the pound in a terrible state.  His health has now improved tremendously and Pepper is like a puppy again.  He loves going for a walk with lots of sniffing and exploring but can walk along at a good pace too.  He is a little wary of people's intentions sometimes but with lots of reassurance and positive touching he is learning to enjoy interaction with people and desperately wants pats and kisses first thing in the morning.  He is calm around other dogs and never gets into arguments.  However, Pepper prefers the company of people to animals.  He has a sleep each day and also likes spending time exploring the garden.  He has soft fluffy hair that doesn't shed and is lovely to brush.

Pepper has now been resettled in a quiet gentle home with another  poodle for company.

Gizmo is a middle-aged maltese poodle cross rescued from the pound.  He was a fairly anxious dog looking for attention all the time and loved dogs better than people in the period after his rescue.  The pound advised us he had been at the pound many times over the last 4 years and his family have decided not collect him this time. He has good dog manners and, being fairly small, easily adapted to being a lap dog as he settles in to a new home.

Toby is a happy and cuddly small poodle cross. He's a playful dog, enjoying a game with his soft toys or his ball (he makes a great fieldsman in a game of cricket!) in between snoozes. He is very good with kids, other dogs and cats. Although Toby is nearing middle age, he is as fit and energetic as a two year old and is excellent on the lead. He is such a gorgeous boy that his foster family would have made him a permanent fixture except that the house is already full with three other dogs! Luckily, we found another family who were just as welcoming and who are happy to provide Toby a permanent home.
